The Solid Waste Management Division is seeking a dependable, team-oriented Utility Worker I to support daily operations of the Cart Maintenance Team. This position plays a key role in maintaining cart inventory, supporting field operations, and ensuring yard organization and cleanliness. Requirements

  • Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in solid waste, fleet support, or field maintenance operations
  • Experience operating City vehicles or similar work vehicles
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with supervisors and team members

Responsibilities

  • Yard Operations & Inventory Management Wash, sanitize, and prepare carts returned by drivers for reintegration into inventory
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs on carts returned to the yard
  • Manage and track cart inventory to ensure operational readiness
  • Support cart exchange operations and staging
  • Field Support Complete high-priority work orders in the field as assigned
  • Provide driver coverage when employees are on leave
  • Assist with time-sensitive operational needs to maintain service levels
  • Yard Maintenance & Organization (Osage Yard) Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Osage yard
  • Perform trash collection and general yard upkeep
  • Ensure safe, organized storage of carts and materials
