Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends. This position is responsible for many different tasks/duties, please see the “essential duties and responsibilities” for more details. This position will check in daily with management regarding the day’s tasks/duties. The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Experience: 6 months in related experience preferred.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Must regularly pull empty farm and setter buggies on casters weighing approximately 200 pounds.
  • Must regularly push/pull setter buggies on casters weighing up to 700-1300 pounds.
  • Must occasionally lift chick boxes weighing approximately 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to regularly bend, stoop and reach above head.
  • Must be able to obtain scissor lift certification.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit;use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.
  • Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
  • Safety goggles, face shield, chemical/rubber gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required.
  • Ear plugs and NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
  • Safety glasses are required.
  • Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.
  • Experience with Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean chemical room, chiller pad, offal room, muffler room, parking lot, and outside building weekly. (20%)
  • Setter checks, check all Lafferty systems and refills daily, treat drains weekly, change filters bi-weekly. (25%)
  • Proper inventory practices-Chemical, PPE, Sanitation, etc. (20%)
  • Stocks labs and puts up stock. (15%)
  • Fill in for 2nd and 3rd shift. (15%)
  • Must be able to read, write and perform basic math.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities These may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, such as: operate a high pressure and regular water hose, general sanitation, pre-pull, and support with breakouts. (5%)
