We’re searching for a UX Research Intern to join our family. Our digital products harmonize live radio, artist stations, playlists, and podcasts, offering a personalized audio experience. In this role, you'll work closely with experienced UX researchers, learning to design and conduct user research that delivers impactful findings to enhance the user experience. You'll participate in design sprints and collaborate on cross-discipline teams, all while honing your skills in creating user-centered design solutions. Please Note: This internship is based in New York, NY, but the hiring manager is located in Nashville, TN. While we are open to considering candidates from the Nashville area, please be aware that Nashville-based interns will not be able to participate in the in-person "team" aspects or the broader summer program events hosted at our New York City headquarters.

Requirements

  • Pursing a BA/BS degree in User Experience (UX) Human Centered Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Social Science related fields.
  • Familiar with user experience platforms, like UserTesting
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Participate in collaborative efforts with UX designers, Product Managers, and Engineers, including attending and contributing to team meetings.
  • Support Research Initiatives: Assist in conducting various research methods—such as user interviews, surveys, usability studies, and concept testing—to identify user behaviors, preferences, and pain points.
  • Data Analysis: Help analyze both qualitative and quantitative data from user research studies, which includes coding interview transcripts, identifying core themes, and summarizing findings in comprehensive reports.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to communicate research findings to stakeholders, utilizing visualizations like charts and graphs to illustrate key insights.
  • Project Ownership: Lead and be responsible for one main research project throughout its full lifecycle—from initial research to testing builds—while documenting the process, failures, and iterations.
  • Technical Evaluation: Perform heuristic evaluations for Web, iOS, or Android platforms.
  • Presentation Leadership: Prepare and lead at least one research or design presentation for a non-design audience, such as Product Managers or Engineers.

Responsibilities
