Are you a detail-oriented healthcare professional with hepatology or transplant experience and a strong medical background in scheduling and front/back office operations? We're seeking a dedicated team member to play a vital role in giving patients a second chance at life through transplantation. In this collaborative, computer-based position, you'll work closely with RN Coordinators and Providers to schedule pre-transplant evaluations, guide patients through the workup process, and utilize systems like Cerner, OTTR, and Labcorp/SQL to ensure seamless care coordination. SCHEDULE: Full Time/ 40 Hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm ( can vary) LOCATION: Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix University Medical Center Phoenix is a nationally recognized academic medical center. The Phoenix campus, long known for excellent patient care, has over 730 licensed beds, several unique specialty units and is the new home for medical discoveries, thanks to our collaboration with the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. Additionally, the campus responsibilities include fully integrated multi-specialty and sub-specialty clinics. POSITION SUMMARY This position serves as first point of contact for referral of patients for potential transplant evaluation for referring physicians, their office staff, hospital financial administration, and for the patient. Coordinates the evaluation process, provides education to the patient and family about the process and participates in outreach activities and marketing projects which result in strengthening community relations and increased referral volume.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of a healthcare setting typically obtained by an associate degree in a healthcare related field.
  • A minimum three years' experience in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Requires thorough understanding of diagnostic tests utilized for transplant evaluation and related scheduling procedures, ability to present patient case in selection committee and ability to provide education to patients about the necessary tests, procedure, and related processes.
  • Also requires excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to multi-task; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; ability to demonstrate project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years' experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience with coordinating patient care and education preferred.
  • Experience working as a Healthcare Technician preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the referral and evaluation of potential transplant recipients.
  • Coordinates activities at the time of organ transplantation.
  • Models effective and positive communication skills with physicians, health care professionals, support staff, and patients, including accurate documentation.
  • Performs administrative and education activities for transplant patients and hospital staff.
  • Continually evaluates program and redefines objectives and/or goals.
  • Works independently to provide excellent patient care.
