Caterpillar’s EMD division is hiring a Value Chain Designer for the MWL Cost Team in Peoria, IL! Role Summary: In this role, you will design and implement new processes or updates to existing processes to improve end-to-end value chain performance and efficiency in the MWL business.

Requirements

  • Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.
  • Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Process Mapping/Flowcharting: Knowledge of the concepts of process mapping; ability to carry out the documentation of current and proposed manufacturing processes to identify and make improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping, LCP I, LCP II and VAVE.
  • Ability to work across the end-to-end value stream to improve efficiency.
  • Experience in Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing the end-to-end value chain to identify opportunities for cost improvement.
  • Developing business cases, defining projects, and providing recommended actions for improvements to stakeholders.
  • Identifying waste and implementing projects to achieve goals.
  • Leading MWL LCP I, LCP II and VAVE execution and governance.
  • Establishing and managing cost reduction budgets
  • Support global cost team members
