About The Position

Job Details: · Pay: $14.00/Hour · Location: Marion, Indiana · Hours: Part-Time, Split Shift · Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM & 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM · Start Date: 3/9/2026 Who We Are: Carey Services is a community-based organization which receives strong support from a broad cross-section of individuals, families, businesses, and charitable interests. What We're Looking For: Someone with patience, compassion, kindness and who loves working with people; The Van Driver role is responsible for driving agency vans and wheelchair accessible vans, transporting individuals served to and from the agency. Ideal Experience, Background & Skills: · Familiarity with Individuals with Disabilities is desired · Someone who is driven, adaptable and punctual · Reliability and dependability is necessary As a Van Driver you'll spend your days: · Driving agency vans and wheelchair accessible vans, transporting individuals with disabilities to and from the agency · Transferring people that have a variety of physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities and getting them where they need to go. · Monitoring passengers for any related problems and report problems immediately to supervisors. · Providing care and services to individuals in their care · Monitoring vehicles for any maintenance or operational problems and reporting problems to the supervisors · Maintaining agency vehicles and accompanying equipment in a clean, secure, and orderly fashion. · Reporting and record keeping – responsible completing required forms and reports accurately and in a timely manner. Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet agency insurability requirements
  • Knowledge: Must be able to learn (instruction provided) basic principles of teaching; must have good basic mathematical computation and English Language writing knowledge.
  • Skills: Ability to be adaptive and flexible; excellent communication skills; time management skills; ability to foster a collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, cooperation and shared goals across different departments.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, or sit for periods of time and to lift children; must possess the sensory capabilities necessary to perform essential job functions; must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to gloves, masks, gowns, face shields, shoes, ear plugs, etc.
  • Safety and Compliance: Must be able to follow all required safe and universal precaution practices during a pandemic and as required otherwise. As required by specific job requirements, must know first aid, health and safety measures, or build an acceptable competence level by post-hire training.
