About The Position

The Van Driver is responsible for safely operating a transit van on a morning and afternoon schedule. The Driver must ensure that the transit van is always in good operating condition; pick up and drop off students as per the schedule and assigned route(s); maintain order and security on the van; and obey all laws, regulations, and rules of conduct. Operate the transit van in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your van and report discrepancies. Drivers are responsible for keeping their van clean, fueled and in good working condition. This will include communication with the mechanics on maintenance issues and schedule cleaning. Ensure the van is safely and securely stored. Attends training programs, meetings as required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience with good public relations and customer service
Valid class D driver’s License with good driving record; favorable background check
The ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license
