The Vascular Access Nurse is responsible for the assessment, insertion, management, and maintenance of vascular access devices, including PICC lines, midlines, and other central and peripheral venous access devices. This role serves as a clinical expert and resource for safe vascular access practices, ensuring optimal patient outcomes, infection prevention, and adherence to evidence-based standards. The Vascular Access Nurse collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and bedside nursing staff to determine appropriate vascular access, provide education, and support complex patient care needs across inpatient and/or outpatient settings. This role requires strong technical expertise, critical thinking, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
