About The Position

Software Engineer position with the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Division of Broadcom in Palo Alto, CA. Architect, design & develop next generation networking paradigms related to distributed switching and routing in Virtual Private Cloud, leveraging overlay technologies like VxLAN and Geneve. Design, develop and implement high-quality, scalable and performant Enterprise grade networking system software stack that is widely deployed in datacenters. Influence consensus cross functionally on architecture and design across VCF products. As a hands-on developer, implement efficient kernel and user space software; unit and integration tests; debug, analyze and resolve issues adeptly. Drive the timely and efficient resolution of complex customer issues and escalations, ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's plus 12 years relevant experience/Master's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 10 years relevant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of Operating System concepts with experience in Systems & Kernel programming.
• Strong expertise in C/C++/Python programming.
• Must have prior experience in networking stack software development, industry work experience in L2/L3 forwarding.
• Good conceptual understanding of software defined networking, network virtualization, overlay networking, distributed network systems, data center networking and cloud computing.
