About The Position

The CHS Vendor Management (VM) Specialist is responsible for the contract management lifecycle for all areas under Digital Technology. Key responsibilities include contract negotiation and execution of renewals while ensuring legal and company compliance. The Vendor Management Specialist executes the contract management lifecycle to increase visibility, eliminate “wasteful” / time consuming processes and improve contract approval/renewal execution. The Vendor Management Specialist performs within the vendor management framework to control costs, drive service excellence, and generate value outcomes. The Vendor Management Specialist operates and performs their job duties with limited oversight

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Informations Systems, Healthcare, Analytics, Financial or 15 years equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years experience in Information Technology and/or Application support/development.
  • Contract and vendor management of cybersecurity vendors are a plus. Experience in leading successful project or process implementations. Process driven individual with solid analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • PMP, ITIL, ITSM or SDLC preferred
  • Google suite, Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Vendor Compliance: Resolve vendor problems related to quality, performance, and service level agreements. Hold vendors accountable, as defined by the contract terms, for service interruptions and when service level agreements are not met and Conduct regular audits or assessments to verify compliance and take corrective actions when necessary
  • Maintenance Negotiation: Review maintenance contracts and execute renewals in accordance with the CHS’s contract checklist. Oversee that the required documents have been completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Contract Negotiation: Work with internal business partners to negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure favorable agreements that meet the organization's needs. This may involve pricing, service level agreements (SLAs), delivery schedules, and other contractual terms.
  • Conducts Vendor Business Reviews and creates and delivers Balanced Scorecards to their book of vendors.
  • Maintains accuracy of the Vendor and Contracts Rosters. Expected to manage their day to day operations, assist in maturing VMO framework and developing Vendor Relationship Analysts through delegation, mentorship and coaching.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, logical reasoning, problem solving, verbal, written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently demonstrates independent judgment when faced with difficult and complex problems and operates with discretion in matters of significance.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize vendor-related costs while maintaining quality and service levels. Explore options for cost reduction, such as renegotiating contracts, consolidating vendors, or implementing alternative sourcing strategies
