Ability to stand, walk stoop, kneel ,crouch, and climb as well as (lift, carry or move) up to 50 pounds. Associates are routinely exposed to a variety of pets that bite or scratch, you may be exposed to radiation, anesthesia, biological hazards and controlled substance medication. Must be 18 or older. High School diploma or equivalent required. Treatment Technician should: Walk through and check each patient to make sure that they are stable. · Perform treatments and prioritize the most critical first and the house cat last. o Make sure all treatments are documented o Make sure that the dogs are walked outside and that all cages are cleaned. o Make sure all patients are examined by a doctor and discuss treatment plan prior to appointments during hospital rounds. During the remaining shift: · Monitor patients every hour (use timer if a reminder is needed). · Make sure dogs are taken outside every 2-3hrs if on IV fluids, otherwise every 4hrs. · Enter patient charges in the computer while completing treatments in whiteboard (updating PVL’s). · Must be able to lift up to 40lbs unassisted, over 40lbs with assistance · Be comfortable taking radiographs, phlebotomy, IVC placement, giving SQ, IM and IV injections. · Assist TPR techs and doctors as patients are brought back or admitted for treatment. · Complete afternoon treatments as scheduled. · Complete vaccine reminder calls and surgery recalls and document the phone call in CS (Saturday and Sunday ONLY) · Take any client calls that need to speak to a tech or need to be triaged. · Help triage any walk-ins and fit-it appointments. · Update the white board as needed throughout your shift. · Facilitate any emergencies until someone gets a doctor. · Make sure daily checklist is completed throughout the day and help complete and/or assign tasks as necessary. · Prompt the doctors to keep whiteboard updated and properly transfer cases before they leave for the day. · Complete rounds at shift change and with the surgery tech if needed. · Double check that all patients are accounted for End of the night: · Perform PM treatments before the evening doctors leave so they can examine and address questions as necessary. · Check with PM Doctor. They are to check and update whiteboard for the following day. · Make sure patient charges are updated in the computer. · Ensure all patients have had treatments performed and are stable. · Shutting down the hospital: unplug the scale, turn off x-ray machine/computer and breaker, lift table plugged in, doors locked, dryer turned off etc. · Make sure daily tasks were completed and initialed and make sure the hospital is clean and closed properly and that all animals are accounted for and secure in their runs or cages. · If emergencies occur late in evening make sure ALL priority level 1 daily tasks are completed and initialed in the daily check list. Priority level 2’s are to be completed then 3’s as time allows.
