About The Position

The oncology assistant will take direction from and perform duties under the supervision of doctors. How you'll make a difference Maintenance of IV catheters Calculate and administer both oral and injectable medications Accuracy in calculating, delivering, and maintaining anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs Safely position and take radiographs and obtain and prepare various blood samples for diagnostic testing Administer chemotherapy as directed, ensuring all protocols are followed and adhered to Provide quality, compassionate care for hospitalized patients Providing extensive client communication and education on various oncology disease processes Maintain accurate treatment sheets

Requirements

  • 2+ years working as a Veterinary Assistant
  • Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
  • Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
  • Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients and their owners
  • Positive outlook, ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.
