About The Position
Veterinary United (VU) is proud to serve the Jensen Beach community, and we’re looking for a compassionate, dependable Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a modern, team-oriented medical environment. This role is hands-on and well-rounded. While surgical support is part of the position, it is not the sole focus. We’re seeking a Veterinary Assistant who enjoys being involved in all aspects of patient care — from supporting appointments and diagnostics to assisting with procedures and client communication. Requirements
- Experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
- Experience with animal handling, restrains, blood draws, passing meds, and more
- Comfort supporting both appointments and procedures
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- A calm presence in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A passion for high-quality patient care
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments
- Help restrain patients safely and compassionately
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
- Support diagnostic testing and treatments
- Provide clear and friendly client communication
- Prepare patients for procedures
- Support anesthesia monitoring under technician or doctor supervision
- Maintain clean and organized surgical areas
- Ensure instruments and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained
- Work closely with doctors, technicians, and client service representatives
- Assist with patient flow and hospital efficiency
- Participate in team discussions and support positive workplace culture
