About The Position

The Virginia Veterinary Center in Short Pump, VA is hiring a full- time Neurology Coordinator to join our outstanding team! General Purpose: Elevate client and patient care. Responsible for working with clients to present, explain and enact treatment plans for patients. Audits current and closed invoices.

Requirements

  • Able to work 4 varying 10-hour shifts 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday
  • 3-5 years Client Service Work History
  • 2-5 years Demonstrated history of handling escalated client concerns.
  • Excellent typing and computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Strong technical skills to manage majority of tasks digitally.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow current knowledge of surgery specialty as well as new ways to grow in own career path.
  • Ability to professionally and efficiently communicate with all personality types and able to fluidly pivot between multiple tasks during shift.
  • Strong communication skills and the most positive customer service skills.
  • Approaches communication with emotional maturity and self-awareness.
  • Possesses the ability to effectively communicate with clients of all levels of sophistication
  • Able to meet physical demands such as standing, sitting, kneeling, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Experience Auditing Medical Records is a bonus.
  • 2-5 years Leadership/Trainer Work History is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the doctors and their medical team to provide exceptional client service.
  • Takes as many calls as possible for specialist with a timely resolution of client concerns/requests.
  • Assists neurology treatment staff with post-procedural call-backs to clients.
  • Proficient knowledge of all accepted payment types, loan options, available financial aid resources, and pet insurance processes.
  • Assists clients with financial aid/loan applications, insurance companies and claim processing.
  • Handles complicated or time-consuming financial conversations with clients, relieving the specialist or his/her team so they can move onto the next patient or procedure.
  • Possesses good knowledge of routine neurology cases, procedures, advanced imaging process, and at home care.
  • Available to and works collaboratively with all ER and Specialty staff throughout the hospital to coordinate patients’ care.
  • Appropriately answers common questions regarding neurological procedural times, appointments, and instructions.
  • Ensuring all specialty cases are scheduled in a timely manner per specialist’s standards and availability.
  • Creating and reviewing estimates with Neurology clients to improve treatment plan compliance and efficiency in the Neurology Department.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of inpatient, outpatient, and transferring emergency patient records to verify client invoices are processed accurately and that all applicable prior history has been received and attached to the patient’s record.
  • Assumes responsibility for financially updating clients and rounds with the client service staff in the start and end of each shift providing all necessary information/updates to ensure continued flow of client/patient care.
