About The Position

Dogwood Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is seeking a Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Technician to support our expanding radiology department. This role is designed for an experienced veterinary technician who enjoys advanced diagnostics, imaging technology, and working with specialty teams. If you are confident with radiography, CT imaging, patient positioning, and anesthesia monitoring for diagnostic procedures , this is an opportunity to grow your technical skills in a collaborative specialty and emergency hospital environment. Dogwood is a large specialty and 24-hour emergency and critical care veterinary hospital serving the greater Atlanta area. Our collaborative hospital provides advanced care in: Diagnostic Imaging & Radiology with a board-certified Radiologist Soft Tissue & Orthopedic Surgery with board- certified Surgeons Internal Medicine with board-certified Internist Emergency & Critical Care with five board-certified Criticalist Anesthesia & Analgesia with a board-certified Anesthesiologist Oncology Neurology – starting late fall 2026 Cardiology – starting late fall 2026 Our advanced imaging department includes: Computed Tomography (CT) Digital Radiology Advanced ultrasound imaging Endoscopy and minimally invasive diagnostics Comprehensive in-house laboratory Diagnostic imaging plays a central role in case management , supporting complex medical and surgical patients throughout the hospital. This technician will work closely with our veterinary radiologist, specialists, and emergency clinicians to support imaging procedures and ensure safe patient care. Requirements

  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant
  • Experience with digital radiography and CT imaging
  • Advanced patient handling and positioning skills
  • Experience working in a specialty and emergency hospital environment
  • Strong attention to detail and safety
  • Full-time position with flexibility to provide on-call support for Saturday coverage as needed

Nice To Haves

  • RVT / LVT / CVT credential
  • Previous experience in veterinary radiology or diagnostic imaging
  • Advanced anesthesia monitoring experience

Responsibilities

  • Appropriate patient positioning for diagnostic radiographs and CT imaging
  • Perform digital radiography following radiation safety protocols
  • Assist with CT scans and advanced imaging procedures
  • Maintain imaging equipment and ensure image quality
  • Follow radiation safety standards for patients and staff
  • Assist with sedation and anesthesia for imaging procedures
  • Monitor patients during CT and advanced diagnostics
  • Provide safe patient recovery following sedated or antiesthetic procedures
  • Assist veterinarians with imaging case coordination
  • Maintain accurate imaging documentation and medical records
  • Communicate patient updates with the veterinary care team and client
  • Provide compassionate, safe patient handling and care
