Requirements

  • Current California RVT license or at least 2 years of experience working in a veterinary practice
  • Proven technical expertise in surgery, dentistry, and patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills and a calm, compassionate demeanor.
  • Strong multitasking and time-management abilities.
  • A passion for teamwork, continuous improvement, and exceptional client service.
  • Critical thinking, curiosity, and a can-do attitude

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled support during exams, surgeries, dental procedures, and emergency care.
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia and sedation under DVM direction.
  • Perform dental cleanings, radiographs, and assist with extractions.
  • Collect and process diagnostic samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.).
  • Manage inpatient care, including IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and medication administration.
  • Educate clients about treatments, medications, and home care.
  • Maintain surgical suites, medical equipment, and hospital inventory.
  • Mentor veterinary assistants and newer technicians, sharing your skills and experience.
  • Support the front desk as needed to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Communicate with warmth, clarity, and confidence
  • Embrace the occasional “cat rodeo” with safe, skilled handling
  • Celebrate the moments that matter — birthdays, babies, anniversaries
