About The Position

Outpatient Imaging Affiliates (OIA), an owner and operator of over 60+ outpatient imaging center locations in 19 states, is looking for an experienced Vice President - Controller to lead our Corporate Accounting team. Our VP Controller is responsible for directing and overseeing the following accounting functions: general accounting, accounts payable, treasury payroll, and healthcare cost accounting. Partnering with Finance, including but not limited to, the following areas: audits, budgets, analysis and development. Requirements

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required.
  • Seven + years progressive accounting experience (preferably within healthcare services).
  • Skilled in financial analysis, detail-oriented, and proficient in building and using complicated data sources, financial modeling, and multi-year projections.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and healthcare revenue cycle accounting preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinker and advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A strong team leader, team builder, team player with a track record in crafting effective processes, developing and implementing operational plans, and building new strategies.
  • A solid understanding of system and business processes, as well as healthcare financial issues.
  • Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”) – both financial and operational.
  • Excellent communications skills – including written, oral, presentation and listening.
  • Travel required - Periodic travel (approximately 5-10%) for meetings, due-diligence, or visits to centers.
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines with a proactive approach.
  • High degree of positive energy and ability to rapidly develop positive relationships with others is critical.
  • Demonstrate effective conflict management skills.
  • Round with staff on a regular basis to promote a team environment and effective communication.
  • Uphold all principles of medical and patient confidentiality by ensuring compliance with all HIPAA and other federal regulations regarding patient privacy and billing rules and regulations.
  • Assess and respond to current and future internal and external healthcare trends to establish and ensure the necessary direction for financial operations.
  • Continually seek ways and means for improving the delivery and support of financial activities and programs.
  • Assure satisfaction of key stakeholders by providing high quality support and by responding appropriately to outcomes and to feedback.
  • Understand all the job functions of finance, accounting, and revenue cycle as well as the process flow across departments, and involve them, as appropriate, when actions may impact their work functions.
  • Establish and maintain key working relationships with leadership across the organization.
  • Develop and grow professionally as needed through business affiliations, seminars, and workshops to keep abreast of trends in finance, accounting, revenue cycle management, and healthcare in general.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership and management experience in health care is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle systems (EPM, ERP) highly preferred.
  • Experience working in private equity-backed companies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leads entire accounting department including general ledger, accounts payable and treasury processes and functions ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accounting information and financial statements.
  • Responsible for all banking relationships, including the set up and maintenance of all bank accounts for both company and JV partners.
  • Manages accounting and reporting software – setup of new companies, writing reports, etc.
  • Facilitates Year End review/compilation process with outside accountants for JV partners.
  • Responsible for financial preparation and coordination of annual audits.
  • Oversees analysis for de novo, acquisition and joint venture deals, performing due diligence tasks.
  • Records acquisition transactions/ facilitates the accounting transitions related to acquisitions.
  • Works with outside payroll company to accurately record salary/benefit/tax expense.
  • Communicates with management/outside partners regarding financial statements and related activity.
  • Reviews and accurately values revenue and accounts receivable for imaging centers monthly.
  • Assists in the participation of planning of fiscal year budget and operates areas of responsibility within established budget.
  • Ensures accuracy and timely filing of 1099’s, income tax returns, property tax returns, use tax returns and unclaimed property returns.
  • Manages and files all entity-level state registration documents and annual reports.
