About The Position

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Data & Analytics Engineering in Boston, Massachusetts to act as a liaison to the various software development teams and other data teams to market and proliferate the Data Technology doctrines, principles and standards. Communicate data topics with the Investment Technology division including best practices, software design methodologies, and query optimization. Collaborate with the Data Technology team to design and build the complete re-envisioning of enterprise data model. Create master data sources and the key resolution engine as well as the supporting processes to ensure data quality. Collaborate with other software development teams to onboard software applications and processes onto the new Data Technology including cloud technologies and replication. Devise and implement pragmatic data governance principles and methodology. Work with Data Technology team to review potential vendor solutions. Define business requirements and specifications, and recommend best business practices. Perform detailed data analysis and validation. Assist with preparation, coordination, and execution of User Acceptance Testing.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Software Engineer, Technical Architect, System Analyst, IT Analyst, Systems Engineer, or a related role.
  • Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills: Oracle; SQL Server; PL/SQL; TSQL; Programmable units including stored procedures and functions; Performance tuning; ETL Technologies including Pentaho kettle or Informatica; Perl; Unix shell; AWS; Snowflake; Github; Azure Dev Ops; Eagle PACE; Blackrock Aladdin; Buy-side investment data including security master, positions, transactions and analytics; Provisioning data for client reports, regulatory reports and marketing; ESP; and Autosys.
