Role Scope and Impact Have you ever considered what powers the platforms, data, and AI that run a global restaurant enterprise? Look no more! The Vice President of Engineering is responsible for building and operating the technology platforms that power enterprise data, reporting, restaurant data management, franchisee user access, and AI enablement across the organization. This role leads teams that deliver high-impact, business-critical solutions including performance portals, speed-of-service applications, franchisee systems, and the enterprise data and reporting platforms.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience
  • 10+ years leading large teams
  • Deep understanding of data-governance frameworks (GDPR/DSAR, SOX)
  • Strong cloud-native and security background
  • Expertise with Snowflake and AWS
  • Executive-level communication and business partnership skills
  • Experience with machine learning and associated mathematics
  • Bonafide experience in AI enablement, tooling and solution implementation
  • Experience with vendor management and negotiation

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple engineering teams delivering enterprise reporting solutions, operational analytics, and data-driven applications.
  • Own platforms supporting brand reporting experiences.
  • Oversee engineering for franchisee access platforms, identity, authorization, and secure data access providing services and access to company developed and 3rd party applications.
  • Define the architecture and strategy for enterprise systems
  • Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure appropriate controls and governance.
  • Improve usability and self-service while maintaining strong security posture.
  • Lead architecture, engineering and operations of restaurant attributes and master data platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability across brands and systems.
  • Own the architecture, engineering and operations of the enterprise data platform which is Snowflake.
  • Ensure reliable ingestion, monitoring, support, and onboarding of new data sources.
  • Make data broadly available through well-designed APIs, models, and tools and a strong data governance program.
  • Support consumers of enterprise data that is used for business reporting, financial systems integration and customer operations
  • Establish strong data observability, quality monitoring, and support processes.
  • Lead engineering efforts to enable responsible, secure use of AI across the enterprise supporting the brands and corporate functions in adoption of AI and automation techniques and tools.
  • Provide platforms, tools, and guardrails for AI adoption and automation.
  • Enable natural language analytics and AI-driven automation
  • Drive AI Adoption around the organization and within the brands
  • Own production operations, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive best practices across reliability, testing, CI/CD, and security.
  • Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering leaders and teams.
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
