We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Forward Deployed Engineer – Vice President (VPR) to join our Engineering Hub. This role is located in a New York city In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Lead embedded technical discovery with stakeholders to clarify problems, constraints, success metrics, and day-2 ownership; ask probing questions with intellectual curiosity and translate findings into practical solution designs (data flows, APIs, security models, environments) through clear, concise communication. Build MVPs, experiments, and proofs-of-concept to validate value quickly, then harden successful approaches into scalable, secure, and observable product features in partnership with platform teams. Configure and extend existing platforms and tooling (APIs, enterprise platforms, data or AI tooling) with client-specific logic; implement CI/CD-friendly configuration and deployment patterns, documenting decisions and communicating tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences. Codify repeatable patterns and reusable modules to reduce time-to-value; share best practices and deployment templates and provide enablement through demos and technical workshops that foster curiosity and collaborative learning. To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered. 5–9 years of total professional experience, including 3+ years in software engineering with hands-on coding in a relevant language (such as Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Python). 1+ years of client-facing delivery experience (e.g., forward deployed/solutions engineering, or blended Product/Engineering roles) with demonstrated excellence in communication—able to manage ambiguity, ask insightful questions, and articulate tradeoffs and recommendations to stakeholders. Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and continuous learning mindset; experience designing and integrating APIs/services and working with cloud or hybrid environments (networking, environments, IAM). Exposure to enterprise AI/ML practices (such as LLM prompting, orchestration, or MLOps) is preferred, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences. BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $96,500 and $160,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Requirements
