About The Position

Natural Habitat Adventures (Nat Hab), a nature-focused global adventure travel company, is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Vice President of Systems to lead our enterprise systems function . This senior leadership role is responsible for translating company vision into scalable systems strategy, leading a team of direct reports, ensuring operational excellence, and driving innovation that enhances productivity, decision-making, and guest experience. The ideal candidate is both a strong people leader and a practical technologist , someone who can inspire a team, build trusted relationships across departments as well as parent and sister companies , and implement modern systems and A I tools that fit seamlessly into business workflows. This is a full-time, exempt position open to local candidates only as this position is to be in the Louisville , Colorado offices no less than 50% of the time .

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in systems, technology, or IT roles, including managing direct reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence organizational change.
  • Strong executive presence and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker , able to balance long-term vision with practical execution.
  • Experience developing and executing enterprise systems strategies.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, integrations, and business systems.
  • Previous experience as a systems developer
  • E xperience working with AI, automation, or workflow optimization tools along with practical experience implementing AI solutions.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, data governance, and responsible AI practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with public company compliance requirements is a plus
  • Experience with online commerce is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the Systems department, establishing clear priorities and accountability.
  • Lead and continuously refine the organization’s systems development lifecycle (SDLC) , establishing clear processes, governance, and cross-department collaboration to ensure technology initiatives are scoped effectively, delivered efficiently, and aligned with strategic business priorities.
  • Translate company vision into enterprise systems strategies and a multi-year technology roadmap.
  • Oversee the performance, reliability, and optimization of core business systems, infrastructure, and integrations.
  • Lead planning and execution of company-wide technology initiatives, including project management, change management, and staff training.
  • Partner closely with department heads and senior leadership to identify technology solutions that support operational and strategic goals.
  • Build and scale the Systems team by recruiting, hiring, and developing high-performing IT professionals and software developers, aligning talent strategy with the organization’s systems roadmap, operational needs, and long-term digital growth.
  • Develop and execute Nat Hab’s A I strategy, identifying high-impact opportunities to improve workflows, productivity, and insight across teams.
  • Report project status and strategic initiatives to the executive team, translating technical progress, risks, and priorities into clear business insights.
  • Establish responsible AI governance standards and ensure data privacy and security best practices are upheld.
  • Monitor system performance metrics to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the Systems department budget and vendor relationships as a steward of company resources.
  • Partner with IT leadership to ensure cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory alignment (including SOX, and CCPA).
