About The Position

The Vice President of Program Services serves as a visionary leader dedicated to shaping life‑changing experiences for 8,000 young people annually. The position is responsible for guiding all programs and services across a variety of models, including After School Programs, Summer Camps, School Break Programs, Athletics, and Youth Intervention & Diversion Programs — ensuring every young person who walks through our doors encounters opportunity, belonging, and inspiration. The incumbent will provide strategic leadership in the development, design, and implementation of organization‑wide curricula, establish clear standards for program excellence, and ensure the consistent delivery of streamlined, high‑quality programs that produce measurable outcomes aligned with organizational priorities. The leader will work closely with the Vice President of Club Services to ensure a world-class club experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; master’s preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of work experience, preferably in a Boys & Girls Clubs (or similar multi-million-dollar organization), planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
  • A minimum of ten years’ work experience leading an organization with over 150 people.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage employees at multiple locations, including budget oversight, team development, and performance management
  • Drives Vision & Purpose: Ability to lead large-scale program initiatives with a clear vision and strategic direction.
  • Program & Youth Development Expertise: Strong knowledge of youth development program models, evidence-based practices, and culturally relevant programming.
  • Cultivate Innovation: Creates improved ways for the organization to be successful. Ability to develop and implement new & creative approaches to program delivery and improvement.
  • Drives Engagement: Create a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of organization‑wide curricula and program models across core outcome areas: Academic Success, Healthy Relationships, and Life & Workforce Readiness.
  • Establish and maintain standards for program excellence that ensure consistency, fidelity, and high‑quality experiences across all Club sites.
  • Guide the development of annual program goals, performance indicators, and outcome measurement systems.
  • Act as a thought partner with the Chief Programs & Operations Officer to ensure the overall program strategy is aligned with the organization's strategic vision.
  • Establish and implement a system for program partnerships that yield high-quality learning opportunities for Club Members that is executed at the Club level and the Support Center.
  • Develop and manage program and vertical budgets, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources and adherence to organizational priorities.
  • Lead the development, evaluation, and adaptation of Club programs and services to meet youth and community needs continually.
  • Identify opportunities for program innovation, expansion, and improvement based on emerging trends and community needs.
  • Ensure grant compliance for program-related funding and partnerships.
  • Hold team members accountable for accuracy and partner with the RD and Government Grants team to ensure on-time, accurate reporting.
  • Lead, coach, and support program directors and managers, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and high performance.
  • Supports team members to ensure accurate program tracking of member participation, implementation fidelity, and progress towards defined youth outcomes.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Club Services to ensure alignment between program strategy, Club operations, and member experience.
  • Collaborate with Resource Development to support grant proposals, reporting, and full compliance with program‑related grant requirements.
