About The Position

The main responsibility of the Video Content Creator is to conceptualize, develop, produce, edit and deliver compelling, internally facing video content that educates, inspires and empowers our good4u Crew. The secondary responsibility is to develop, produce, edit and deliver compelling public facing video content for various platforms to drive interest in employment opportunities with Natural Grocers, to educate the public about why Natural Grocers is an exceptional place to shop and to drive customer counts. The videos need to build trust and rapport, inspire Crew to provide World Class Customer Service and support company initiatives, as well as engage and solidify customer loyalty. The role involves a combination of creativity, technical skills, and storytelling abilities to captivate and connect with our current Crew, potential Crew, and communities. The Video Content Creator plays a leading role in the conceptualization, scriptwriting, pre-production and creation of short and long-form videos, documentaries, graphics, animations and other media content. This position reports to the Creative Senior Manager of Employee Engagement Content, who they work with to produce high-quality video content that exemplify the principles, standards and culture of Natural Grocers. This is not an entry level position, nor a flexible “work from home and send in the files” role. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in video production and editing, including use of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and other elements of Adobe Creative Cloud required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in documentary creation/production with a passion for storytelling required
  • High school diploma, GED, or experience in related field required
  • Scriptwriting and pre-production planning skills are required
  • Videography using DSLR-style mirrorless video cameras with interchangeable lenses is required
  • Technical skills and experience setting up camera, lighting and audio equipment in a variety of settings and environments
  • Experience using production accessories like gimbals, sliders and drones
  • Graphic design and other creative digital work experience
  • Highly motivated, proactive, organized, attention to detail
  • Effectively managing and prioritizing tasks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Proficient working with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • This position is fully on-site and requires 100% of the time be spent working from the SSC or the field.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends if necessary to meet project deadlines is required.
  • Must have the ability to frequently lift or carry 11-50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to frequently push or pull up to 30 to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to constantly use the computer for data entry, editing, writing and use of mouse.
  • Must be able to constantly sit, stand, and use fine motor manipulations for the duration of the work shift.
  • Must be able to frequently walk.
  • Must be able to frequently grip, squat, kneel, bend, twist, turn, reach outward, and reach above chest as needed.
  • Must be able to occasionally work in cold, heat, and noise.
  • Must be able to work outdoors and on farms with animals.

Nice To Haves

  • Postsecondary degree in video, education, graphic design or another related field strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Use visual storytelling and script writing that showcases Natural Grocers’ commitment to our Five Founding Principles, standards, benefits and company culture
  • Generate innovative and compelling ideas for video content, considering the intended audience, brand objectives, and platform requirements.
  • Develop pre-production plans for scripts prior to recording or creating content.
  • Collaborate with department management and company leadership utilizing engaging scripts, videos, animations, and documentaries on a variety of topics to create the following content:
  • Crew facing content that educates our good4u Crew about why Natural Grocers is an exceptional place to work with the aim of driving Crew morale, exceptional customer service and sales.
  • Public facing content to be used across platforms that engages customer loyalty and educates our customers about why Natural Grocers is an exceptional place to shop.
  • Public facing recruiting content that creates awareness of and increases candidates for employment opportunities at Natural Grocers.
  • Oversee the entire video production process including:
  • Script writing
  • Filming
  • Lighting
  • Sound recording
  • Directing talent (if applicable)
  • Interviewing
  • Gathering B-roll and testimonials (if applicable)
  • Editing
  • Oversee video team members assigned to produce video content.
  • Ensure the use of appropriate equipment and techniques to achieve desired visual and audio quality.
  • Coordinate and schedule video production in stores and other locations.
  • Create a cohesive and visually appealing final product with well-done audio utilizing video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro) to assemble footage, add effects, transitions, and graphics.
  • Schedule, collaborate, coordinate with Crew at the Stores, Bulk Packaging Facility, Distribution Center, and the Store Support Center (SSC), juggle multiple projects at a time and meet content deadlines.
  • Adapt video content to suit specific platforms and formats, ensuring it meets length restrictions, aspect ratios, and technical requirements by following already established video standards.
  • Uphold high production standards through the review process using an eye for detail.
  • Conduct interviews with subjects on camera in a professional, respectful, and effective manner.
  • Work with the manager to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Create and edit graphics, video clips, and other multimedia content to assist with the creation of video content.
  • Design typography and graphics to enhance readability, engagement, and messaging.
  • Visit sites throughout the organization to capture video content.
