About The Position

The Vox Media Podcast Network is looking for a Video Editor to lead the visual identity and post-production for “A Touch More” and “Bird’s Eye View,” two flagship women’s sports and lifestyle podcasts. You will own the video editing workflow for full-length episodes and collaborate on creating compelling short-form content optimized for social platforms. The ideal candidate is a meticulous and fast technical editor who understands how podcasts move through the modern media ecosystem. You should have a strong sense of visual style and a portfolio that showcases conceptually bold work. Requirements

  • Production Experience: Proven experience in video podcast production for a media brand, agency, or individual creator.
  • Technical Fluency: Mastery of Adobe Premiere and a strong working knowledge motion design, graphic design, and audio editing programs
  • Editorial Instinct: A keen eye for identifying the natural "flow" of a recording and a well-honed sense of pacing to keep viewers engaged throughout a full episode.
  • Strong Portfolio: A body of work that showcases your ability to shape voice, tone, and rhythm through editing.
  • Visual Storytelling: Comfort with multi-camera editing and techniques like overlays, animated inserts, and typography to emphasize clarity or humor.
  • Efficiency and Flexibility: The ability to maintain high brand standards while working against the tight deadlines of a twice-weekly show with variable recording schedules.
  • Platform Passion: Deep knowledge of the social media landscape and excitement about evolving podcasts into dynamic, multiplatform products.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Two Weekly Series: Lead the end-to-end editing and visual post-production for one to two full-length podcast episodes per week, distributed on YouTube and other video platforms, and support the creation of social media clips.
  • Develop Visual Identity: Translate the personality and pacing of our hosts into a distinct and elevated podcast aesthetic.
  • Enhance Engagement: Design and integrate dynamic motion graphics, lower thirds, captions, and visual cues that enhance the narrative and tone.
  • Technical Polish: Ensure consistent branding through the expert use of color, typography, and layout.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Address mixed-location interviews (e.g., Zoom + studio footage, live event footage) with creativity, ensuring cohesion and polish regardless of source quality.
  • Multi-Cam Management: Implement split-screen layouts and on-screen text to keep long-form conversations visually engaging and viewer-friendly.
  • Collaborative Iteration: Work closely with hosts, producers, and showrunners to iterate quickly and deliver high-quality content on a strict weekly schedule.
