About The Position

The Videographer & Photographer is responsible for producing dynamic, high-quality video and photographic content that supports the storytelling, marketing, and programmatic needs of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Momentary. This role reports to the Multimedia Producer and serves as the primary videographer for both institutions, while holding photography as a secondary, yet essential, function. This position contributes to the concepting, shooting, editing, and delivery of video and still-image assets across exhibitions, programs, events, educational content, and institutional campaigns. The ideal candidate is energetic, creatively curious, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects. Strong collaboration, originality, and a willingness to explore new visual approaches are key to success in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, media production, photography, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
  • Strong understanding of video production, lighting techniques, and audio recording.
  • Strong creative sensibility and comfort experimenting with new formats, technologies, and approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent the Museum with professionalism.
  • Commitment to the Museum as a place of social good that reflects diverse communities.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in videography, video production, or multimedia storytelling.
  • Photography experience supported by a strong portfolio.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills with a compelling portfolio demonstrating cinematography and photography.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with absolute deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high production quality.
  • Familiarity with usage rights, permissions, and image/video licensing.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and openness to feedback.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods, carry equipment, and work in varied lighting conditions.
  • Must be able to lift/carry equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires vision abilities including close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.
  • Requires frequent use of computers and production equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in arts, cultural institutions, or creative teams preferred.
  • Experience with digital asset management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality video content for exhibitions, public programs, marketing campaigns, digital storytelling, and institutional initiatives.
  • Edit and produce polished video deliverables adhering to brand standards and the creative direction set by the Multimedia Producer and Creative Director.
  • Collaborate in the development of storyboards, scripts, visual concepts, and shot lists.
  • Operate professional camera, lighting, audio, and stabilizing equipment.
  • Manage footage organization, file naming, archiving, and media workflows within established systems.
  • Provide on-site production support for events and performances, including multi-camera setups.
  • Photograph exhibitions, installations, events, and institutional moments for digital, social, and print needs.
  • Edit, color-correct, and prepare image files with consistent visual quality.
  • Maintain an organized archive of images following Creative Department standards and digital asset management processes.
  • Partner with Creative Services, Communications, Exhibitions, Programming, and other departments to meet visual content needs.
  • Attend project kickoffs, stakeholder meetings, and feedback sessions as required.
  • Ensure all visual content aligns with accessibility, inclusivity, and institutional values.
  • Adapt to frequent and simultaneous projects with varying priorities and deadlines.
  • Support conversion of video and photo materials into formats required for digital channels, in-museum screens, and social media.
  • Maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure readiness for studio and on-location shoots.
  • Prepare production schedules, shot lists, and gear requirements as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors or contractors when outsourcing specialized production tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
