About The Position

Your job is more than a job. The Violence Intervention Program Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Seeds of NOLA hospital-based Violence Intervention Program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to patients and families affected by violence. In this role, the Supervisor will be expected to fill in roles as a Violence Interrupter/Violence Intervention Specialist as needed. This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, and LCMC Health reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet organizational needs as necessary.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, or a related field such as psychology, sociology, criminal justice, etc.
  • 3 years of experience in social work, counseling, or therapy, preferably with a focus on violence intervention or related areas.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to effectively supervise, and mentor staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services available to individuals affected by violence.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations in a public health or social service setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Violence Interrupters and Violence Intervention Specialists, providing guidance, coaching, support, and mentorship to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures in collaboration with the Director of Violence Intervention Services, hospital leadership and other community stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with hospital departments, community organizations, and other partners to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to violence interventions.
  • Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide training and supervision to staff on trauma-informed care, social work and violence prevention best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of program activities and outcomes.
  • Work with Seeds of NOLA Manager and Violence Intervention team to produce regular required reports to stakeholders, including the City of New Orleans.
  • Work with Seeds of NOLA Manager and Director of Violence Intervention Services in diversifying and supplementing existing funding sources.
