About The Position

Your job is more than a job. The Violence Intervention Program Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Seeds of NOLA hospital-based Violence Intervention Program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to patients and families affected by violence. In this role, the Supervisor will be expected to fill in roles as a Violence Interrupter/Violence Intervention Specialist as needed. This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. Requirements

• Master's degree in social work, or a related field such as psychology, sociology, criminal justice, etc.
• 3 years of experience in social work, counseling, or therapy, preferably with a focus on violence intervention or related areas.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to effectively supervise, and mentor staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
• Knowledge of community resources and services available to individuals affected by violence.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations in a public health or social service setting.

Nice To Haves

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Violence Interrupters and Violence Intervention Specialists, providing guidance, coaching, support, and mentorship to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
• Develop and implement program policies and procedures in collaboration with the Director of Violence Intervention Services, hospital leadership and other community stakeholders.
• Coordinate with hospital departments, community organizations, and other partners to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to violence interventions.
• Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
• Provide training and supervision to staff on trauma-informed care, social work and violence prevention best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of program activities and outcomes.
• Work with Seeds of NOLA Manager and Violence Intervention team to produce regular required reports to stakeholders, including the City of New Orleans.
• Work with Seeds of NOLA Manager and Director of Violence Intervention Services in diversifying and supplementing existing funding sources.
