About The Position

This role supports the development, setup, and improvement of machine vision systems and automated inspection methods used in both manufacturing and R&D. The position is ideal for someone interested in hands‑on engineering with cameras, industrial sensors, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and data‑driven test systems. You will help build reliable inspection and test capabilities that improve product quality, accelerate development cycles, and increase operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related discipline with 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant field
  • Exposure to vision systems, imaging, or optical inspection
  • Experience or coursework involving industrial sensors, PLCs, or automation equipment
  • General CAD familiarity
  • Basic programming or scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), Gage R&R, or other statistical methods
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation abilities
  • Clear communication and collaborative mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NI LabVIEW, Vision Builder, or other test automation tools
  • Experience with AVEVA Historian or similar monitoring/logging systems
  • Familiarity with JMP
  • SolidWorks experience
  • Hands‑on, curious, and eager to gain expertise in vision and automation systems
  • Comfortable working in both R&D and production environments
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of balancing multiple tasks

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installing, configuring, and validating vision systems, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and sensors
  • Support engineers in developing and maintaining automated test methods for inspection, measurement, and process characterization
  • Work with PLCs, sensors, and data acquisition systems to integrate hardware into automated workflows
  • Perform data collection, analysis, and troubleshooting for vision systems and automated equipment
  • Aid in the setup and testing of inline and offline inspection systems, including roll‑to‑roll environments.
  • Contribute to documenting test procedures, system configurations, and results
  • Collaborate with R&D, and production teams to ensure systems meet functional and quality requirements
  • Learn and apply tools and best practices in computer vision, industrial automation, and process monitoring
