Centre College invites applications for a 1 Year Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies to join our interdisciplinary program in August 2026. We seek candidates who address environmental challenges through an interdisciplinary lens combining field, laboratory, and/or computational methods, and who specialize in Sustainability Science, Climate or Atmospheric Science, Environmental Quality, Remediation, & Risk, or a related field. Qualified candidates must be ABD or hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a related field by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will be qualified and enthusiastic to teach Introduction to Environmental Science (with Lab) in addition to a variety of courses in their area of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates who could also teach Introduction to Environmental Studies. The successful candidate will join a community of teacher-scholars dedicated to excellent teaching and student mentorship, balanced representation, shared governance, interdisciplinary collaboration, global study, scholarly achievement, and service to the college and broader society.
