Bucknell University’s Department of Music invites applications for a 1-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 2026. We seek candidates with teaching expertise in music theory and applied organ and piano with an active performance career. The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of three courses each semester in music theory, studio organ/piano, and introductory courses in music or other related subjects. Additional responsibilities include co-coordinating and participating in keyboard-related activities, such as auditions, music department juries, studio class meetings and residencies by guest artists. By the start date of the position, candidates are expected to have an earned doctorate in Music Theory, Organ or Piano Performance, or another related field. Candidates who have earned an Artist Diploma or another professional certificate beyond the Master's degree, and who have strong records of teaching experience may also be considered.
