About The Position

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to support the programs and activities of the Boys and Girls Club of Bluffton. This role involves coordinating volunteer schedules, ensuring volunteers are effectively integrated into the organization, and recognizing their contributions. The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with staff to identify volunteer needs and develop strategies to enhance volunteer engagement.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in volunteer coordination or a similar role.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software.
Passion for working with youth and supporting the mission of the Boys and Girls Club.

Responsibilities

Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to attract and recruit volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
Training: Organize and conduct orientation and training sessions for new volunteers.
Scheduling: Coordinate and manage volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all programs and events.
Supervision: Provide ongoing support and supervision to volunteers, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
Recognition: Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events and initiatives to recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions.
Communication: Maintain regular communication with volunteers, providing updates and information about upcoming opportunities and events.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and contact information.
Collaboration: Work closely with staff to identify volunteer needs and develop volunteer job descriptions.
Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of the volunteer program and make recommendations for improvements.
