About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a variety of general administrative functions assigned by department manager or higher. Recruits, supervises and trains volunteers; coordinates scheduling of their interviews, orientations, training, annual in-services, and monthly work schedules. Conducts interviews and orientations. Assists with teen volunteer program as appropriate. Assists with writing and maintaining newsletters, and training materials. Assists in maintaining accurate and current database for volunteers. Records worked hours, medical requirements, confidentiality agreements, annual refreshers, mandatory trainings, recognition, uniforms, ID badges, and computer security access. Conducts criminal background checks. Assists in coordinating special events for volunteers Keeps Kronos time and attendance and schedule Supports volunteers in all service roles and locations Assist in volunteer appreciation opportunities and contributions. Work with the team to develop and maintain a comprehensive recognition plan that supports volunteers in their roles and connects them to the mission and each other When requested, provides support to Association of Volunteer Chairpersons for Gift Shop operations. Composes flyers for special sales events for shops. Offers and performs a variety of support to the Volunteer Boards, including officers, board, and standing committees. Works with the Marketing Department in updating information on the Mercyhealth volunteer website page, social media pages, newsletters, and pamphlets for various services provided by departments. Provides operational support to the Meals on Wheels programs and Mercyhealth Safe Connect program. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s Degree preferred. Volunteer experience preferred. Proficient Working knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (For Home Health and Hospice only) Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercy’s HR-01-Fleet Safety policy. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent interpersonal/communication skills. Good planning and strong organizational skills. Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
