About The Position

The VP of Systems Analysis & Process Engineering is a senior leader responsible for driving system modernization, process re engineering, and architectural simplification across Asset Management Service Technology. This individual provides hands-on technical analysis, deep business and data understanding, and strong cross-team coordination to deliver scalable, extensible, and resilient solutions that support growth and operational excellence. This role requires a strong mix of Asset Management domain expertise, technical depth, process optimization, and strategic execution. The director will evaluate legacy platforms and workflows, identify modernization opportunities, and work with engineering teams to execute optimal solutions. The position also plays a critical role in presenting recommendations to senior business and technology leaders to drive alignment and decision-making. Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in systems analysis, business systems engineering, or process engineering in financial services.
  • Strong domain expertise in Asset Management, including operational workflows such as trade lifecycle, reconciliation, performance, reporting, or client servicing.
  • Proven track record overseeing large‑scale system implementations, including multi‑year platform migrations involving account conversions and complex asset types across equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements for internal applications, including workflow‑driven operational tools designed to enhance transparency, controls, and process efficiency.
  • Experienced in serving as the technical product owner and lead analyst for both in‑house and vendor software solutions
  • Strong expertise in enterprise data mapping, data analysis, and requirements definition, with the ability to translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex system and process solutions to senior executives.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple IT and business teams in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead modernization initiatives spanning application, data, workflow, and process layers across Asset Management Service Technology.
  • Conduct deep hands-on analysis of data, workflows, integrations, and system behaviors to identify the optimal modernization path.
  • Assess legacy platforms, document current-state constraints, and drive re-evaluation of existing processes and systems.
  • Recommend solutions that improve response time, reliability, scalability, and extensibility across service functions.
  • Work closely with engineering to translate analysis into executable designs, requirements, and implementation plans.
  • Lead the development of AS‑IS and TO‑BE system and process models, including data flows, integration patterns, domain models, and technical specifications.
  • Establish strong linkage between business requirements, functional specifications, and technical architecture.
  • Ensure modernization programs align with enterprise standards for security, data governance, and solution architecture.
  • Perform end-to-end analysis of existing operational workflows across asset management service domains.
  • Re-engineer processes to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce manual or redundant steps.
  • Identify automation opportunities through workflow engines, RPA, integration orchestration, and low-code platforms when appropriate.
  • Drive measurable improvements in cycle time, service-level predictability, and operational resilience.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, including portfolio operations, trading operations, compliance, reporting, finance, and distribution.
  • Coordinate with IT counterparts across architecture, data engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application development teams.
  • Ensure cross-team alignment around modernization goals, timelines, risks, and value delivery.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for analysis and design discussions, helping technical and business partners converge on optimal solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-ready presentations to senior leaders in both technology and business.
  • Communicate complex technical analysis and modernization options in clear, outcome-focused terms.
  • Present recommendations on system rationalization, process redesign, integration strategy, automation, and target-state architecture.
  • Gain alignment from leadership and guide teams through prioritization and execution.
  • Perform detailed reviews of system logs, data sets, APIs, integration patterns, and processing workflows.
  • Use hands-on analysis to uncover root causes of system limitations or processing delays.
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to validate modernization opportunities, sequencing, and feasibility.
