As VP of Global Transportation, you will own and evolve a global transportation network that directly influences cost, speed, and customer experience across our marketplace. You’ll sit on the Supply Chain Leadership Team, work closely with executive leadership, and drive strategy that touches every seller and buyer worldwide. What you’ll do Transportation Network Strategy & Design Develop and evolve a best-in-class global transportation network across Verification Centers, Xpress Fulfillment Centers, Drop-Offs, and other nodes Optimize carrier and lane strategy to improve cost, speed, and service quality Lead transportation strategy for facility launches, realignments, and decommissions Strategic Carrier Management Own the global carrier strategy and negotiate master agreements with major global and regional providers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) Maintain competitive tension while building long-term, strategic partnerships Integrate new carriers and services to build redundancy and enhance customer experience Financial Performance & Cost Optimization Manage a large annual transportation budget Continuously drive Cost per Trade (CpT) reduction without compromising service Partner with Finance and Planning on freight forecasting and cost modeling Lead invoice audit oversight and forensic cost analysis to identify savings opportunities Operational Execution & Network Health Monitor inbound/outbound performance and carrier compliance through advanced analytics Lead initiatives to reduce Time to Serve (TTS) and improve end-to-end predictability Develop business cases, pilots, and POCs to test innovative transportation solutions Drive exception management and rapid resolution during peak and disruption events Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership Partner with Operations, Finance, Product, Engineering, and executive stakeholders to align transportation strategy with company roadmaps Lead peak planning (Holiday, Back-to-School, strike mitigation, etc.) Represent transportation strategy in company planning and roadmap discussions Team Leadership & Development Lead and develop a global, multi-time-zone team Build strong succession planning, mentorship, and engagement programs Foster a high-performance culture aligned with company values About you 15+ years of progressive transportation, logistics, or supply chain leadership experience, including senior-level people management Deep expertise in global eCommerce and small parcel transportation, including cross-border operations Proven success negotiating large-scale transportation contracts Strong financial acumen with experience managing large budgets and cost optimization initiatives Experience with BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI), advanced analytics, TMS/WMS systems, and financial forecasting tools Strategic thinker who can set long-term direction while executing tactically Experienced in working cross-functionally and influencing executive stakeholders Analytical and data-driven, with strong problem-solving capabilities Effective communicator who can drive alignment and transformational change Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, globally complex environment Nice to have skills Experience in global marketplace or eCommerce environments International work experience or multilingual capabilities Familiarity with strategic planning frameworks (OKRs, Hoshin, Balanced Scorecard, SWOT) Experience leading transportation strategy during large-scale peak events or network transformations Experience leveraging AI and advanced analytics within transportation or supply chain environments, particularly in areas such as strategic carrier management, network optimization, and real-time operational control Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and any other state or local hiring regulations, we will consider for employment any qualified applicant, including those with arrest and conviction records, in a manner consistent with the applicable regulation. Pursuant to the Colorado Fair Pay Act, the base salary range in Colorado for this position is $220,000 to $250,000, plus opportunities for benefits (e.g., medical, dental), equity and discretionary bonuses. Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive transportation, logistics, or supply chain leadership experience, including senior-level people management
