Job Overview: The Vice President of Enterprise Analytics is a senior IT leadership role responsible for owning the enterprise analytics, data, and AI strategy and the delivery of analytics solutions through technology and engineering teams. This role sits within IT and partners closely with business leaders across merchandising, supply chain, marketing, finance, store operations, and digital commerce to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and high-performing analytics and AI capabilities. The VP will directly own analytics engineering, data engineering, and AI delivery teams, including management of third-party and offshore partners, and will be accountable for platform reliability, data quality, governance, and value realization. This leader will modernize the analytics ecosystem and embed AI-driven insights into core business workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in analytics, data, or technology leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading analytics engineering and data engineering teams within IT organizations.
  • Strong experience managing offshore and third-party delivery teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Power BI, Matillion, Azure, and modern data platforms.
  • Experience with data governance, data management, integration standards, and enterprise architecture.
  • Experience supporting public company financial reporting, SOX compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business leaders while maintaining strong IT ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise analytics, data, and AI strategy aligned with IT, digital, and corporate transformation roadmaps.
  • Establish a multi-year analytics and AI technology roadmap spanning descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive capabilities.
  • Serve as a strategic IT partner to business executives, translating business priorities into technology-enabled analytics solutions.
  • Champion a data- and AI-driven culture with strong governance, security, and responsible AI practices.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of analytics, BI, and AI solutions through internal and offshore engineering teams.
  • Lead analytics engineering, data engineering, BI development, and ML engineering capabilities.
  • Establish delivery standards, SDLC, and agile practices for analytics and AI development.
  • Manage and optimize third-party and offshore delivery partners, ensuring quality, velocity, and cost effectiveness.
  • Enable business teams with trusted, timely, and actionable analytics across: Customer analytics (segmentation, personalization, loyalty, CLV) Merchandising, assortment, and pricing analytics Supply chain, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization Store operations, labor optimization, and field performance Digital, e-commerce, and omnichannel analytics
  • Own and evolve the enterprise analytics and data platforms in partnership with Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure.
  • Lead adoption and optimization of Snowflake, Azure, Power BI, Matillion, and modern ML platforms.
  • Establish and enforce enterprise standards for data quality, data governance, master data management, metadata, lineage, and security.
  • Define integration standards, APIs, and data contracts across enterprise systems.
  • Ensure compliance with public company financial reporting requirements, SOX controls, audit standards, and data privacy regulations.
  • Lead implementation of AI/ML capabilities including forecasting, optimization, recommendations, anomaly detection, and GenAI-enabled analytics.
  • Oversee MLOps practices to ensure reliable deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of models.
  • Partner with cybersecurity and legal teams to ensure ethical and responsible use of AI.
  • Implement DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps practices for analytics and data platforms.
  • Ensure platform reliability, performance, scalability, and cost management.
  • Define SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics for analytics platforms and teams.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing analytics engineering, data engineering, and AI teams.
  • Provide strong leadership to offshore and third-party teams, including vendor governance, performance management, and capability building.
  • Establish clear roles, career paths, and performance expectations for analytics and data talent.
  • Foster strong collaboration across IT, data, security, finance, and business teams.
  • Act as a trusted IT partner to senior leaders across business functions.
  • Translate complex technical and analytical concepts into clear business outcomes for executives and the board.
  • Lead executive-level discussions on analytics, AI, and data platform investments.
