About The Position

Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Strategic Initiatives Position Overview Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Strategic Initiatives leads the company’s enterprise financial planning, forecasting, and performance management functions. This role serves as the organization’s primary leader for financial planning and performance analysis and works closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to translate operational performance into financial insights that support strategic decision-making across the business. The Vice President of FP&A oversees the development and execution of the company’s annual budgeting process, monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, and executive financial reporting. This leader partners closely with operational and corporate leadership to evaluate business performance, guide capital investment decisions, support pricing strategy, and drive initiatives that improve profitability and operational efficiency. The Vice President also leads the FP&A organization, managing a team of analysts responsible for financial modeling, planning, pricing analysis, and operational performance insights.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Significant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis leadership
  • Experience leading and developing FP&A teams
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and board-level financial reporting
  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel-based forecasting expertise
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting, and performance management
  • Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional business leaders and drive strategic decision-making
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multi-location operations, services, logistics, or industrial environments preferred
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s enterprise-wide annual budgeting process.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with operational performance and strategic priorities.
  • Maintain long-range financial planning models to support business growth and capital planning.
  • Develop and monitor key financial and operational performance indicators across the organization.
  • Analyze financial results against budget and forecast, identifying trends and operational drivers affecting performance.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to executive leadership to support informed decision-making.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly executive financial reporting packages.
  • Support the CFO in preparing board and investor reporting materials.
  • Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead financial analysis related to capital investments, pricing strategies, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Develop profitability analysis by business line and recommend opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Evaluate financial impact of operational initiatives and long-term strategic plans.
  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to executive leadership and operational teams.
  • Partner with business leaders to improve financial visibility and operational decision-making.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve operational efficiency, margin performance, and working capital management.
  • Lead and develop the company’s FP&A organization, including financial analysts responsible for planning, reporting, pricing analysis, and operational performance insights.
  • Establish performance expectations, provide mentorship, and foster a high-performing analytical culture.
  • Promote a data-driven decision-making environment across the organization.
  • Oversee financial planning and forecasting processes utilizing Excel-based budgeting and forecasting models.
  • Ensure alignment of financial reporting with the company’s Microsoft Dynamics ERP system.
  • Partner with analytics resources responsible for maintaining Power BI reporting dashboards used to support operational and financial performance visibility.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial planning and reporting capabilities through improved tools, processes, or systems.
