Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer within the Enterprise Strategy Office, the VP, Strategic Enablement will ensure the organization delivers its most critical priorities with discipline, transparency, and speed. The role will integrate strategy, planning, governance, portfolio management, measurement, and change management into a unified operating approach that strengthens accountability and enables consistent delivery of strategic outcomes. As a key member of the Enterprise Strategy Office leadership team, this executive will drive strategic alignment across the Executive Committee by establishing clear mechanisms for defining, sequencing, and managing enterprise priorities. This work will ensure that strategy is translated into actionable focus areas and that prioritization decisions are grounded in data, value, and capacity. The role will be accountable for enterprise portfolio management to enable effective execution and oversight of the company's most strategic initiatives, including portfolio governance, leadership, and prioritization. This leader will advance the mission of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, including the design and stewardship of an accountability framework that defines targets, operational metrics, maturity standards, and transparency expectations. This role will lead enterprise change management by defining the standards, governance, capability‑building approach, and training that drive adoption, readiness, and sustained value creation. The leader will define relevant operating models [likely project and change managers embedded within business units and corporate functions responsible for delivery, while this role provides centralized oversight and enablement]. Together, these responsibilities ensure the enterprise has the structures, standards, and capabilities required for disciplined strategy execution while enabling the company to deliver its strategic ambitions with clarity, rigor, and measurable impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent related work experience in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required
  • 10+ Years of experience in insurance/reinsurance required
  • 10+ Years of people management experience required
  • Experience running a PMO or large multi-year portfolio of projects required
  • 5+ Years reinsurance industry knowledge preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office and SQL skills required
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders, including customers and associates; Highly advanced ability to work well within and manage a team required
  • Advanced persuasion skills when working with internal/external customers to resolve issues/problems required
  • Advanced ability to investigate, analyze and solve complex problems/issues; Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills required

Responsibilities

  • Drive enterprise-wide strategic alignment across the Executive Committee by translating company strategy into clear, sequenced priorities and enterprise tradeoffs, establishing consistent mechanisms to define, frame, and manage the work that matters most, and ensuring prioritization decisions are grounded in data, value, capacity, and execution readiness.
  • Design and lead enterprise governance and leadership forums including strategy reviews, portfolio prioritization councils, and business performance reviews to enable transparent decision making, disciplined execution, and sustained accountability across the Executive Committee and senior leadership.
  • Own and operate the enterprise portfolio management model, including governance, standards, portfolio systems (e.g., Planisware), and operating cadence, by managing the full initiative lifecycle, with defined enterprise decision rights, from business case development and funding decisions through resourcing, execution oversight, and value validation, ensuring disciplined prioritization, transparency, and enterprise wide adoption.
  • Oversee execution and performance of the enterprise strategic portfolio (including BTOC governance forums), providing executive level insight across scope, schedule, financials, capacity, risk, interdependencies, and benefits; optimizing enterprise capacity and resource allocation; directing recovery plans/corrective action and enforcing change controls when required; and embedding change management and enablement capabilities to ensure sustained delivery and realized outcomes.
  • Design and operationalize the enterprise accountability framework, establishing clear targets, operational metrics, efficiency thresholds, and maturity standards, supported by consistent process documentation and execution excellence dashboards across regions and functions.
  • Embed fact based governance and sponsorship discipline by driving consistent leadership behaviors, transparent performance reporting, and rigorous oversight across executive, portfolio, and steering committee forums to raise enterprise delivery standards and accountability.
  • Institutionalize value realization discipline into the portfolio lifecycle, strengthening the connection between program benefits and financial outcomes. In partnership with Finance, develop and maintain an expense model to identify cost drivers, quantify savings opportunities, and track expense KPIs linked to strategic priorities. Enable accountability for expense commitments; ensure realized savings are evidenced and reported.
  • Build and lead high performing enterprise teams by attracting, developing, and retaining talent across program delivery, portfolio analytics, change management, and enablement, establishing strong leadership capability, succession depth, and a performance driven culture aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted enterprise leader and partner to senior stakeholders, building strong relationships with Executive Committee members and business leaders to enable adoption and delivery of portfolio governance and accountability frameworks, and acting as business owner for major enterprise initiatives and transformations as required.
