About The Position

The VP, Strategic Operations is a senior operator responsible for turning strategy into execution across the business. This role exists to design, implement, and maintain systems that span departments—particularly where ownership is shared, unclear, or evolving. This is a hire intended to bring operational rigor, financial discipline, and execution velocity to a growing organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in operations, finance, or general management roles
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong financial literacy and operational judgment
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure
  • Clear communicator with a bias toward execution

Responsibilities

  • Own cross-functional operational systems spanning retail, roastery, finance, HR, and support functions
  • Identify structural bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions
  • Improve consistency, predictability, and accountability across the organization
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex operational issues
  • Partner with finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls
  • Improve forward-looking operational and financial indicators
  • Support leaders in understanding and managing their P&Ls
  • Ensure operational decisions align with margin and cash-flow targets
  • Lead high-impact initiatives from concept through execution (e.g., new store formats, kiosks, renovations, systems rollouts)
  • Incubate new programs or internal tools before transitioning ownership to functional leaders
  • Maintain clear timelines, ownership, and success metrics for all initiatives
  • Support the wholesale program through systems, structure, and operational enablement, not direct selling
  • Partner with the Wholesale Director on: Pricing and margin frameworks Operational readiness for new accounts Forecasting, fulfillment, and scalability
  • Ensure wholesale growth aligns with company-wide financial and operational standards
  • Help build repeatable processes that allow the wholesale team to scale without friction
  • “Manage the managers” by improving delegation, systems ownership, and accountability
  • Partner with HR leadership to reinforce clear roles, workflows, and performance expectations
  • Act as connective tissue between departments that otherwise operate in silos
  • Represent operational leadership in executive planning and decision-making
