About The Position

The Wealth Management Program Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and expanding the organization’s wealth management program. This role ensures the delivery of high‑quality financial planning and investment advisory services, drives revenue growth, maintains regulatory compliance, and fosters strong relationships between advisors, internal partners, and members/clients. The Program Manager serves as the primary liaison between the financial institution and its third‑party broker‑dealer or investment partners. This role blends strategic business leadership, sales performance management, fiduciary oversight, talent development, and cross-functional partnership to position the Wealth Management program as a fully integrated, growth-oriented advisory business within California Credit Union.

  • In-depth knowledge with all aspects of investment & insurance products, services, market, and environment.
  • Must possess licensure in Series 7, 63, 65, (or 66), as well as California Insurance licenses.
  • Requires 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in investment and insurance services within a financial institution or broker-dealer environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, scaling AUM, and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience managing compliance, supervision, and regulatory examinations.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain top talent.

  • A degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent field preferred.
  • Financial-planning certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-year strategic roadmap for the Wealth Management program aligned with credit union growth objectives.
  • Establish and achieve revenue, profitability, and asset-under-management (AUM) targets through disciplined sales leadership and performance management.
  • Lead annual and long-range business planning, including forecasting, budgeting, market expansion strategies, and advisor productivity optimization.
  • Identify and implement growth initiatives including digital engagement, referral optimization, cross-channel integration, and member segmentation strategies.
  • Champion a member-first advisory model that prioritizes fiduciary standards, financial wellness, and holistic planning.
  • Lead and develop a team of 10–15 Financial Advisors, Associates, and support professionals.
  • Establish clear KPIs including production metrics, AUM growth, financial planning engagement, referral conversion, and client retention.
  • Implement structured coaching frameworks to elevate advisor effectiveness, pipeline management, and consultative selling capabilities.
  • Drive advisor recruiting, onboarding, and succession planning to ensure scalable growth and continuity.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align Wealth Management strategy with overall Credit Union growth and member engagement initiatives.
  • Build strong partnerships across retail, lending, commercial, and marketing teams to drive internal referrals and uncover member needs.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration between branch staff and advisors.
  • Represent the Wealth Management program in cross‑departmental initiatives and member‑facing events.
  • Develop marketing strategies and campaigns to increase member awareness and engagement.
  • Oversee all program operations to ensure efficiency, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner closely with the broker-dealer to ensure compliance with FINRA, SEC, state insurance regulations, and internal audit standards.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and supervisory structures meet evolving regulatory and fiduciary requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service-level performance to optimize member experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain operational integrity across all business processes, including data security and suitability standards.
  • Monitor risk management protocols and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget and forecasting process.
  • Analyze revenue trends, advisor productivity metrics, expense ratios, and profitability performance.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize cost structure while maintaining high service and compliance standards.
  • Deliver structured training programs, continuing education, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Support professional growth including advanced planning designations and industry certifications.
  • Establish succession planning frameworks for advisors and leadership roles.
  • Foster an inclusive, ethical, and high-trust culture.
  • Support enterprise financial wellness initiatives and position advisory services as a core component of member lifecycle strategy.
  • Represent the Wealth Management department in leadership forums and board-level reporting as needed.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and client experience.
  • Manages special projects.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the EVP, Chief Experience Officer.
