About The Position

Are you a student in Vincennes University's Machining Internship Program (MIP) looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Requirements

  • High School Diploma, required
  • Currently enrolled in a Vincennes University's MIP Program.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently with little supervision.
  • Able to work with basic Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Use caution and support systems to assure safety event free facilities
  • Observe, respond and report any instance of equipment non-conformity, or significant threat of resulting non-conforming product
  • Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures
  • Security diligence, including maintaining control of key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to company facilities by non-employees, and proper maintenance / security of the company equipment and information
  • Pause activities and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environment or employee practices
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions
  • Assist superiors in any day to day activity
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shop
  • Complete manual machining and supervised CNC machine operation as needed
  • Assist with general shop maintenance:
  • Develop an understanding of machine functions and the setup process.
  • Read blue prints
  • Use precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of components
  • Generate tooling component CAD models and detail drawings using SolidWorks
  • Participate in reverse engineering activities
  • Maintain and release CAD data for manufacturing
  • Provide technical support as needed for new and existing tooling
  • Sort and organize hard copy and electronic documents for the Tooling Group
  • Scan Documents and Records for archive purposes
  • Add, edit, replace or remove archive documents as directed
  • Complete Mold Manual maintenance
  • Assist Finance, Purchasing and Scheduling personnel as requested
  • Create files or log shop information as needed
  • Maintain reports related to project shipments, labor, and efficiencies
