About The Position

Directs all functions of the warehouse including purchasing, maintaining inventory, disbursement, receiving, processing RMAs and filling orders. Maintains accurate inventory counts in agreement with automated inventory systems to maximize benefits of inventory cost management. Oversees mechanical needs for fleet and construction equipment by coordinating with internal resources and vendors to ensure smooth and reliable operation of PRTC’s fleet and construction equipment inventory. Manages CDL program and vehicle inventories. Recommends replacement vehicles and construction equipment as needed. Oversees company vehicle telematics and vehicle Wi-Fi systems including procurement, installation, licensing, monitoring, troubleshooting and reporting. Maintains related records and internal billing documentation. Responsible for overseeing PRTC’s building and grounds including Corporate Office, Retail Center, Operations Campus, remote offices, remote cabinets, security systems, generators, HVAC systems, fire suppression systems and related infrastructure. Manages PRTC safety program and regulatory compliance related to OSHA, DOT and workers compensation. Essential Job Functions: Responsible for purchasing, tracking, receiving and storing PRTC’s warehouse materials including OSP materials, telecommunications and network materials, miscellaneous supplies, construction materials and equipment. Ensures materials are properly received into inventory and verifies vendor shipments match receipts. Establishes and maintains automated inventory control systems including Acumatica, MBS and Fleet maintenance software. Implements and enforces systems of internal controls. Maintains accurate warehouse inventory records. Performs annual audits with assistance from accounting department. Codes all project materials to correct jobs, stages and loads materials for internal crews and contractors. Coordinates staging and loading of cable and materials for grants and large-scale projects and manages return of unused materials upon project completion. Coordinates entry of refurbished and tested equipment from repair facilities into inventory systems for redeployment. Manages and stocks remote warehouses to reduce technician travel time and improve operational efficiency. Manages Cradlepoint vehicle Wi-Fi systems including purchasing, installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, repair or replacement, annual license renewals and maintaining usage records for internal billing purposes. Manages Samsara vehicle GPS system including purchasing, installation, user role management, reporting, software updates, equipment transfers between vehicles and annual license renewals. Develops fleet budget; specifies, purchases, assigns and coordinates upfitting of all company vehicles and construction equipment. Maintains vehicle and equipment records including service logs, insurance documentation, fuel cards and accounting records. Maintains vehicle appearance, preventative maintenance schedules and repair coordination to ensure minimum operational downtime. Transports vehicles for repair as needed and maintains adequate spare vehicles. Sells surplus vehicles and equipment through competitive bid processes. Administers CDL compliance program including Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse (DACH) reporting, annual queries, quarterly drug testing coordination, DOT physical scheduling, driver license monitoring, maintenance of compliance records and support during DOT audits. Coordinates Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks for CDL and non-CDL drivers as required. Produces and maintains required maintenance documentation for CDL vehicles and trailers in accordance with federal and state regulations. Responsible for supporting and maintaining PRTC’s buildings and grounds including HVAC systems, generators, fire suppression systems, elevator inspections, landscaping contracts and remote facility maintenance. Coordinates new cabinet purchases and installations in conjunction with Outside Plant personnel. Participates in planning, design and construction coordination for new company buildings and warehouse facilities. Maintains key control systems and access management for all facilities, including oversight of Paxton security software and companywide camera systems. Coordinates video footage with law enforcement when required. Performs manual facility operations when required including gate closures during holidays or emergency events. Manages PRTC’s safety program including conducting quarterly safety committee meetings and companywide safety meetings, following up on safety suggestions and complaints, maintaining OSHA compliance and coordinating workers compensation reporting. Files required safety and incident reports including DHEC reporting (e.g., dog bite incidents) and maintains related compliance documentation. Performs employee evaluations, prepares timesheets and manages scheduling including vacation and sick leave for warehouse personnel. Communicates with carriers regarding routing or damaged shipments. Checks freight invoices to ensure correct count and charges for items received. Works collaboratively with Construction, Outside Plant Engineering, Network Engineering, Managed Services, IT, Customer Service and other departments to ensure proper equipment specifications, stocking levels and operational readiness. Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school degree required.
  • 3-5 years of purchasing and inventory management experience.
  • Knowledge and skills usually acquired through working in telephone plant operations.
  • Working knowledge of automobiles and mechanical equipment used in telecommunications.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a technical school preferred.
  • Experience in fleet management, facilities maintenance or safety program administration preferred.
