In this hybrid role, we are looking for a person who will work in the warehouse and drive/deliver. The split is about 90% warehouse work and 10% driving. This position is Monday – Friday, first shift hours.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to the work schedule, arrive at work on time, and work throughout the assigned shift
- Accept direction from the Shift Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, or any other supervisory personnel
- Unload trucks and receive shipments of finished goods, other supplies, and merchandise, and place them into inventory
- Load trucks for outgoing shipments
- Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies
- Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments and record discrepancies or damage
- Pick finished goods and merchandise according to the shipping schedule
- Use UPS/FedEx software as needed
- Use barcode scanners, related computers, and software
- Operate packaging equipment such as shrink wrappers, etc.
- Verify that the transfer material paperwork is properly prepared with HazMat descriptions
- Maintain computerized inventory records, take physical inventory counts periodically, and check against inventory control totals using the computer
- General facility housekeeping tasks
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- CDL Class B or C license with HazMat endorsement
- Understand and comply with all DOT rules and regulations involving commercial motor vehicle operators
- Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing preferred
- Ability to read Bills of Lading with delivery instructions
- Make deliveries on time and inform the manager of changes in the delivery schedule
- Use GPS and a Cell Phone
- Deliver and unload finished goods or raw materials to Simoniz customer locations, production warehouse facilities, or other specified locations
- Inspect the truck for defects before and after trips and submit a report indicating the truck's condition
- Maintain driver log according to IC regulations
- Load empty drums from the customer location onto the truck
- Move 500 pounds of packaged product using a manual drum dolly or electric pallet jack
- Other duties as assigned
