Requirements

• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with an excellent command of the English language.
• Must have a commitment to KARM Stores’ mission and mission statement.
• Mechanical aptitude is very desirable.
• Must be adaptable to change, and able to multitask or shift focus quickly.
• Must have or learn understanding of stacking, wrapping , moving and storing pallets of odd materials on multiple levels including warehouse shelving.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment under some stress and time constraints.
• Must use and display excellent ergonomic body management skills in lifting, bending, stretching, walking, stair climbing, and standing.
• High level of activity with some physically challenging elements.
• Stand – up to 100% of a standard work day.
• Walk – up to 75% of a standard work day.
• Use hands to perform required duties – up to 100% of a standard work day.
• Lifting and Bending – up to 75% of a standard work day.
• Must be able to drive, lift boxes, grip textiles, wrap pallets with plastic film and type.

Responsibilities

• Runs equipment (forklift) safely and efficiently to our standards daily so we have a safe, organized warehouse.
• Pre-sorts large miscellaneous items and furniture daily or as needed in accordance with our standards so we can send out the best of the best.
• Understands where all product is stored or placed in order to help the team to maintain a clean and well organized warehouse.
• Drives a forklift as needed proficiently both in the warehouse and inside, including lifting and lowering pallets to and from upstairs to insure proper safety guidelines and efficient product handling.
• Maintains a clean, neat and professional work area daily so the warehouse looks presentable to the company and so as to have a clean work environment.
• Maintains tools, supplies and equipment at all times in order to be able to do the job.
• Reports repair concerns immediately to the supervisor so equipment that is malfunctioning can be repaired or replaced quickly.
• Oversees and works with volunteers as necessary to provide a rewarding experience for the volunteers as well as help with labor.
• Prices furniture and product by researching to the best of their ability as well as closely following the pricing guide.
