About The Position

Engage as key lead for logistics aspects, planning execution, and act as a working lead to direct hourly employees in the Receiving, Shipping, and Stockroom areas. Maintain data reports for Production and Inventory Control (P&IC) and other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Logistics, Supply Chain) or equivalent experience
  • Computer skills in planning, execution and communication
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP business systems, or similar planning and processing
  • Capable of driving a manual shift truck, operator forklift, manual lifting, and movement of pallets, lift 35-40 lbs. boxes, material handling - counting, unit of measure, weight scale use, inventory software. Manual hoist operation and drum cart handling.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong people and negotiating skills are a must.
  • Good analytical & problem-solving skills for evaluating data/information and resolving inventory/shipping related issues
  • Ability to prioritize and manage people’s tasks and activities

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience leading hourly personnel in a factory environment is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and process International and Domestic orders for both non-revenue and revenue products needed to meet company goals of on-time delivery.
  • Work with Planning, as well as Production Inventory Control, and Operations to coordinate activities related to Planning- Execution, stock support of production operations, P&IC, shipments process, and materials.
  • Process international shipments through verification of products and creation of managements certifications for Trade Compliance approval.
  • Act as a lead to hourly personnel to achieve receiving, shipping, and warehousing responsibilities and functions. Assist the team with prioritizing workload daily in accordance with on-time receipt, stock control, and delivery expectations.
  • Act as a team lead to the production department in Shipping/Receiving/Stockrooms, material handling, including hazardous materials.
  • Damaged freight resolution for incoming inspection, production areas, and stockrooms. Work issues related to lost shipments, claims, and resolving conflicts in closing out receipts or deliveries (delivery to the site and after departure from the facility).
  • Coordinate and control material movements with purchasing, P&IC, and manufacturing to accurately manage receipt, stocking, and processing shipments. Ensure transactional accuracy.
  • Manage freight, labor, and material costs to effectively meet company requirements. Review and resolve invoices available on the shipping website as needed.
  • Coordinate quality/manufacturing team to support product screening/rework for products located in the shipping area.
  • Maintain customer property warehouse and coordinate all customer property movement with night vision property manager to enable accurate customer inventory records.
  • Production reports, processing, briefings, and activities related to shipment, delivery, metrics, and logistics.
  • Prepare for and facilitate Shipping Status meeting biweekly - also includes different reports (past due, monthly shipping metrics, other reports as needed.
  • Review and translate MIL-SPEC or other packaging and transportation requirements.
  • Process exports and delivery to end user into actionable processes and complete/communicate reporting requirements/documentation to determine/formulate specific recommendations regarding parts and equipment.
  • Enforce compliance with specs/contracts/ customer requirements, in quantity and condition required. Process transactions to complete product tracking/identification/classification, financial processing, and trade compliance regulations.
  • Process approvals for bid and order packaging requirements.
  • Coordination with various departments on shipping needs (credit hold, material availability, etc.)
  • Arrange freight shipments for sales orders, inbound/outbound materials needed for production, and inbound/outbound equipment shipments.
  • Communicate workload priorities through collaborative work with Shipping Coordinator and Master Planner, as well as Production, and P&IC teams.
  • Lead team of unionized employees - includes work, time keeping, and performance.
  • Additional responsibilities (lean projects, inventory, training, other duties as assigned).
