Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance I (Custodian) is responsible for the general upkeep, sanitation, and minor maintenance of the facility. This role ensures a clean, safe, and professional environment for all employees by managing daily janitorial tasks and grounds maintenance. Requirements

  • The physical ability to perform manual labor, including heavy sweeping, vacuuming, and moving furniture.
  • High precision and attention to detail when following checklists to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards.
  • A dependable track record that demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety and attendance.
  • The willingness to work in various conditions, including performing outdoor grounds maintenance in changing weather.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain all facility floors on a daily basis to ensure a safe environment.
  • Routinely sanitize and scrub all washroom facilities to maintain high health standards.
  • Empty wastebaskets and remove trash throughout the building to keep the workspace clutter-free.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and dust all office areas to ensure a professional and clean appearance.
  • Maintain the outside grounds by removing litter and assisting with snow or ice removal when necessary.
  • Assist the team with moving equipment or office furniture and monitor facility pest control devices.
  • Accurately complete all job-related checklists and maintenance forms to track daily activities.
  • Adapt to changes in work assignments, schedules, or reporting relationships based on company needs.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance as it is a vital requirement for this role.
