Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in Warehouse Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management
  • Familiarity with all Logistics and Distribution requirements, terms, Customs Rules/Regulations, FTZ Rules/Regulation.

Nice To Haves

  • People management experience strongly preferred.
  • Background in business analysis with direct customer contact experience is desired.
  • Experience and knowledge with warehouse operations is very important to this position as this is the key contact for the warehouse activities for the entire division.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing operations impacted by Quality Systems, cGMP requirements, and a high level of FDA and third-party scrutiny is desired.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills are essential and the ability to interact effectively at all levels of management and with customers inside and outside of Abbott.

Responsibilities

  • Order fulfillment out of our Altavista, VA Distribution Center. Includes order placement, shipping and logistics coordination, product allocation, prioritization, account management, handling of customer inquiries/complaint resolution and trending and tracking of customer ordering history.
  • This position is responsible for all Logistics and Distribution activities for the Warehouse.
  • Ensuring orders are packaged per DOT, IATA rules, reviewing and processing documents to ensure products conform to regulatory requirements; and ensure that all employees are properly trained per OP's, CAPA, GMP, ISO, FDA regulations.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to ensuring all shipping and receiving deadlines are met.
  • Communicating with purchasing, planning, Quality, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, etc. to ensure all logistics and distribution requirements and needs are satisfied.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Customs and FTZ regulations, requirements, and paperwork are in order at all times, for shipments out of the warehouses
  • Responsible for addressing employee related issues to include coaching and development, training, performance assessments and reviews, corrective counseling, and hiring of exempt and non-exempt personnel.
  • Oversee implementation of new procedures, safety improvement programs and cost reductions.
