About The Position

Yampa Valley Electric Association is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Warehouse Material Handler to be the backbone of our materials operations. About the Role: As our Warehouse Material Handler, you'll maintain the materials, supplies, and tools that keep our electric cooperative running smoothly. You'll be the go-to person ensuring our in-house crews and contractors have exactly what they need, when they need it, from transformers to everyday supplies.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and sharp attention to detail
  • Experience with receiving, inventory management, and material handling
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one
  • Self-starter who can work independently and prioritize effectively
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with crews and contractors
  • Basic computer skills for inventory systems and documentation
  • Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean work environment

Responsibilities

  • Receiving & Stocking: Receive incoming materials, verify shipments against packing lists and purchase orders, inspect for quality and accuracy, and organize inventory by number and specification. You'll label transformers, handle salvaged materials, disassemble returned items for restocking, and ensure everything is stored properly and ready to go.
  • Material Distribution: Support our work order flow by gathering materials from staking sheets and distributing them to crews and contractors. You'll handle job orders, maintenance requests, truck restocking, keeping everyone equipped and on schedule.
  • Inventory Management: Participate in regular inventory checks, verify material entries against work orders and maintenance records, review open order reports, and document any discrepancies for resolution. Accuracy matters, and you'll be essential in keeping our systems tight.
  • Warehouse Operations: Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely. Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and efficient. When winter hits, you'll help with snow removal to keep operations moving. You'll also support the Facilities team with stocking, maintenance, and daily operations as needed.
