About The Position

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for leading all day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, and distribution of products. This role oversees labor, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and company standards. The manager partners cross-functionally to support customer service levels, cost control, and operational scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of warehouse or distribution center operations experience
  • 2+ years of people management or supervisory experience
  • Strong working knowledge of WMS, inventory control, and fulfillment processes
  • Proven experience managing KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Profiecient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-volume, multi-SKU distribution environments
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement certification
  • Experience with warehouse automation and material handling equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting
  • Ensure fulfillment accuracy, order timeliness, and productivity targets are consistently met or exceeded
  • Establish and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and reduce errors
  • Plan labor and workflow based on volume forecasts and operational needs
  • Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all products, including fragile, high-value, or regulated items
  • Monitor shrink, damages, and discrepancies and implement prevention strategies
  • Partner with Inventory and Planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and associates
  • Set clear performance expectations supported by measurable KPIs
  • Conduct performance reviews and support succession planning
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Enforce all OSHA, company safety programs, and regulatory requirements
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment (5S principles)
  • Identify process improvement opportunities using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
  • Reduce labor and materials costs while maintaining service levels
  • Support warehouse layout optimization, slotting, and automation initiatives
  • Leverage WMS and reporting tools to drive data-based decisions
  • Ensure effective use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related tools
  • Partner with IT and Operations leadership on system upgrades, integrations, and automation projects
  • Analyze operational reports and trends to improve performance
