About The Position

This position is a critical support role for the Warehouse Team. As a Warehouse Receiver you are responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording shipments of products. This role ensures that all goods are in perfect condition, verifies shipment information, and maintains accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, while planning the time, method, manner and/or performance sequence of own work.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability and willingness to complete some moderately repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in warehouse receiving, preferably in the food industry.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with warehouse management systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming shipments from trucks using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Inspect shipments for damage, discrepancies, or defects and report any issues to the Receiving Supervisor.
  • Verify the quantity and quality of received products against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Record and update inventory information in the warehouse management system.
  • Label and store received items in their designated locations.
  • Assist in periodic inventory counts and reconciliation.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of received goods, including delivery receipts and inspection reports.
  • Prepare and submit daily receiving reports to the Receiving Supervisor.
  • Assist in preparing documents for audits and inspections.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate receiving of goods.
  • Communicate any issues or discrepancies with the Receiving Supervisor and relevant departments.
  • Keep the receiving area clean and organized.
  • Assist with other warehouse tasks, such as picking, packing, and shipping orders, as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the warehouse manager or other supervisors.
