About The Position

The Warehouse Shipping associate will receive and process customer orders for shipping from the pulling department. They will verify the accuracy of orders and ensure they meet quality standards. The receivers prepare items for shipping, label packages, inspect products for damage, and ensure all items in an order are included in each customer order. Requirements

  • Language Skills Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills Basic knowledge and ability to use a computer.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process customer orders for shipping from the pulling department.
  • Verify accuracy of orders and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Prepare items for shipping by packaging them securely.
  • Label packages with appropriate shipping information.
  • Inspect products for damage or defects before shipment.
  • Report all known issues pertaining to the receipt of product intended to ship.
  • Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documents.
  • Ensure all shipping documents are accurate and complete.
  • Operate shipping equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
