About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Manager is responsible for leading and managing all shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. This role oversees the daily flow of materials, inventory management, and logistics coordination to ensure materials are received, stored, and delivered accurately and efficiently. The manager ensures that materials are available to support production and project execution while maintaining compliance with safety standards, company policies, and operational best practices. This position supervises warehouse personnel, drives process improvements, and collaborates with procurement, logistics, and project teams to maintain an efficient and reliable supply chain.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics, preferably in construction, electrical contracting, or manufacturing environments.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, shipping/receiving software, and warehouse management practices.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to warehouse and material handling operations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with warehouse systems, Microsoft Office, and inventory tracking software.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
  • Supervise and support warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight.
  • Establish and maintain processes for receiving, inspecting, and verifying materials and equipment against purchase orders and shipping documentation.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, including maintaining inventory records and updating systems with received and distributed materials.
  • Oversee the preparation, packaging, and shipment of materials to ensure safe and damage-free transport.
  • Coordinate the delivery and distribution of materials to job sites, warehouses, and internal departments.
  • Develop and enforce safety procedures and company policies related to warehouse and material handling operations.
  • Manage warehouse organization and storage systems to maximize efficiency, accessibility, and space utilization.
  • Collaborate with procurement, project managers, and operations teams to forecast material needs and coordinate delivery schedules.
  • Conduct and oversee routine inventory audits, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage vendor and logistics relationships to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Oversee the return process for damaged, incorrect, or surplus materials.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and cost control.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Support broader operations and logistics initiatives as needed.
